Change a Phone Number
Overview
This document will explain how to modify phone service to change a customer's phone number.
Steps
- Open the customer's account that you want to view, verify the customer's information, and click on the Order Entry tab.
Note: If there is a pending port order, but the customer has decided to switch to a native TN, please contact your support team to have the port cancelled or submit a Back Office Support Request to CLEC National Porting group to cancel the port.
- Navigate to the Phone section of the Add services & features screen. Click on the Phone Number Wrench to bring up the Phone Number Configuration screen.
- Click on the Change Number button at the bottom of the Phone Number Configuration screen.
- Select the new phone number for the different options available.
- Click on Assign once you have selected the phone number.
- Review and recap the order to make sure there are no errors or missing information.
- If all the changes are correct and complete, proceed with Completing the Order.
Note:
- The order will stay in a processing state until BLIF/E911 comes back. Please check NetCracker to confirm that the TN change has been confirmed as completed.
- START may display the old telephone number until the order has been fully completed.
