Change a Phone Number

 

Overview

 

This document will explain how to modify phone service to change a customer's phone number.

 

Steps

 

Open the customer's account that you want to view, verify the customer's information, and click on the Order Entry tab.

Note: If there is a pending port order, but the customer has decided to switch to a native TN, please contact your support team to have the port cancelled or submit a Back Office Support Request to CLEC National Porting group to cancel the port.

 

Navigate to the Phone section of the Add services & features screen. Click on the Phone Number Wrench to bring up the Phone Number Configuration screen.

Click on the Change Number button at the bottom of the Phone Number Configuration screen.

Select the new phone number for the different options available.

Click on Assign once you have selected the phone number.

Review and recap the order to make sure there are no errors or missing information.

If all the changes are correct and complete, proceed with Completing the Order.

Note:

 

The order will stay in a processing state until BLIF/E911 comes back. Please check NetCracker to confirm that the TN change has been confirmed as completed.

START may display the old telephone number until the order has been fully completed.
